Hi I started my IV last Friday, and yestereday and today feel like crawling into a hole. Chills, (I have the heater on a work), fatigue to the point that I can hardly keep my head up, sleep probably 20 hours yestereday. Is this herx, and is this normal. Feel useless at work, and even more useless at home. Hoping to hear from someone that has herxed and hoping you can tell me how long this useless, depressed feeling is going to last.

Good Morning on the 4th day of treatment on Rocephin my symptoms got worse I was in alot of pain. I am new to this board and just found out the word herx, my DR called it the die off effect I was feeling and the fatigue would have been much worse i believe but he has me on Methylcob (B) shots I take 1 injection a day. I feel that this has given me energy that I can function otherwise i would be laid out flat on my back. Taking a shot is hard but it is helping me.

I apoligize I am still hlf asleep had alot of pain last night please hang in there, the DR told me that it does get worse the symptoms, but it is the bacteria dying in my body. I take warm baths with epsom salts and baking soda and have a anelgesic rub called tramel that I use and a heating pad. I also tried to eat something before my treatments and not take them on an empty stomach. This helped to keep my energy up.
