AHHHHH!!!! I think I have a yeast infection!!!!.....
I was on Cerfuroxime (ceftin) for 18 days and I think it gave me a yeast infection! I am itching like crazy (in you know where). I called the docs office and was told to try a over the counter medication.....which one should I try?
This really stinks I was also told to up my i flora to 4 caps a day.
Itching like crazy over here, and not liking it!

I have had really good luck with a homeopathic remedy called AZO Yeast. You can probably find retailers on the net. Good luck- I know first hand how awful they can be.

I use vitamin E I broke open a capsule and applied it to the area it helped with the itching after a couple of applications. I also had burning and the instant relief i found was acidopholis with raw yogurt applied to the area soothed it. Also sit baths with apple cider vinager. Hope it gets better, I know the feeling and its yuky.

Just what people need, as if the Lyme itself wasn't enough!
For yeast, the best otc product I have found is the 7-day CVS brand version of monstat, or monastat-7 itself. The house brand is cheaper by a couple bucks, and it's the same active ingredient, that's why I usually get that one. The 3 day or 1 day products I haven't found to be effective.
If that dosen't do it, see if your doctor will prescribe Diflucan, that generally will wipe it out in a day or two.

Was that your first yeast infection or have you had them before?
If it was your first one, you need to have a doctor examine you (in you-know-where).
There's an antibiotic called Diflucan that usually works great on yeast infections. (got my first infection last month...was. not. happy. at. all. But that antibiotic worked great. (maybe it's an antifungal?)
