ticker, have you ever taken it before? I have little pin point red spots on me here and there, my LLMD thinks it might be babesiosis. Have you ever heard such a thing? I mean about the little red dots.........
I thought you had to take antibiotics to treat the babs?
I take the Mepron, and Artemisian combo Babesia. Artemisian seems to be highly respected for its ability to destroy protozoan parasites like Malaria and Babesia.
I have used Artemisinin along with Zithromax/Mepron/Clindamycin for Babesiosis. While the drugs were very effective, adding the Artemisinin really kicked up the effects. It really is a very powerful supplement, and at least two well-known LLMD's recommend its use along with the combination of meds I mentioned earlier.
At first I was very skeptical and didn't want to try it, but did so to humor my doctor. What a surprise! It really is very effective and I'd wished I'd tried it sooner.
The way it works is that it contains a peroxide group within its molecular structure. When the peroxide group comes into contact with high concentrations of iron (such as red blood cells, the hiding place of Babesia microti), it "explodes", releasing free radicals and destroying the Babesia without harming the blood cell. Unlike anti-malarial drugs, the organism cannot develop resistance to Artemisinin.
I don't know how effective it is without combining it with appropriate anti-Babesiosis meds. The doctors I know of who recommend it always combine it with other medications. I would think that by itself it would have at least some measure of effectiveness, although perhaps not as ideal as combining it with meds. I don't think this is a substitute for proper medications, however it is a powerful adjunct to therapy and furthermore offers a source of at least some relief for those who do not have access to drug therapy.
Hi, Do most people use brand Zithromax or generic (Azithromycin )? I guess I'm asking that question for most of the meds due to the vast difference in pricing....at least w/ my insurance. Thanks
