Dog transmitted

I have asked this question before but my husband brought it up again so here I go. Does anyone on here have lyme after a pet was diagnosed and could you get it from the pet. I have a rottie mix that was diagnosed 6 months prior to me. I personally think we got it at the same time because we moved to an area that had a lot of ticks. She has scratched me before from being hyper and also my children and husband. Not trying to hurt anyone but it happens.

Then about 2 months ago her and my other dog got into a big fight and my stupid brother literally put his hand in the middle and he got bit. She broke the skin.

Now since the doctors think it could be sexually transmitted could it be from a dog. Also, do dogs give bartonella or is that just cats since the same cat scratch fever.

Thanks

Re: Dog transmitted

Hi Tammy. As far as I know, you cannot get Lyme disease from a dog.

I think your theory about you and your dog both being in tick areas at the same time is probably how you both got infected. Is your dog better?

I believe you can get Bartonella from a cat scratch or a tick bite.

Re: Dog transmitted

I also had my dog on the meds and frontline. Boy was I shocked when they said she had it.
