My 2 year old daughter's Igenex results

Well, like I feared, my daughter did in fact contract Lyme's from me during pregnancy. Here's the breakdown of the WB

IGM

31, 34, 39 all IND
41++
58+

IgG
41+ 39 IND

Her test is WAY more positive then mine. I just had 2 IND bands and one positive band.

Does anyone know if they'll do PICC lines on a 2 year old?

Keylyme...sorry about your baby girl. Has the doctor started her on anything yet?

I don't know about a picc line and such a tiny little girl. I would be leary of that...

Sure someone else will have an answer on that...

Just wanted to send you a hug!

Hi KeyLyme. I am very sorry your daughter has Lyme, but it is good you had her tested.

I would think orals would be tried first because they can be effective, are less expensive, and less risky.

Will she be seeing the Lyme pediatrician or will your doctor be treating her?

Re: My 2 year old daughter's Igenex results

She doesn't really show any signs of neurological problems. Most all of her problems happened when she was a baby. She had severe GI problems to where she wasn't digesting her food and was losing weight hand over fist. Plus, she is REALLY moody. Also, she gets sore knees every now and then.

She's so tiny that she's not even on the growth chart for her age. I agree that they'll more than likely try oral abx first. Hopefully since she doesn't have neuro problems, maybe the oral abx will do the trick.

I'm also hoping that I can use her positive test and my borderline positive test to prove to the insurance company that I have Lyme's and need a PICC line. I've been on abx for over 2 months now and don't feel any better. I think I have Babesia so my dr is testing me for it. Hopefully he'll put me on Mepron regardless and if it helps, great...if not, I'm really going to push for a PICC line.

Thanks everyone for your words of encouragement.

KeyLyme
