Question How Far Back To Request Records?

Sorry about so many questions lately

I used to see a DO doctor many years ago. He was the one that saw my "hive" rashes over a period of a year and was "clueless" how to treat me. He sent me here and there and everywhere and eventually dismissed me as a patient saying "he was unable to treat me".

Now, I am wondering if I should try to obtain records from this doctor to have for my appt with a LLMD?

This would be as far back as 1989-90?? to the mid 90's.

What do I expect him to copy and send, if he is even able to since it has been so long ago?

Aimloo ~ thanks a bunch. I have been writing HIPPA "official" letters all morning. It is amazing HOW MANY doctors I saw over the course of 12 years.

I also found a great HIPPA compliance letter template if anyone is interested in the link to the site.

Hey Pollygirl- sounds like you are doing a fantastic job with the records- I would get those ones from the OD if I were you.

I have a question for you- did you used to (still do) post on the MS board? I think I recall you. If so, what made you take a look at lyme? I am very interested in the very common path from MS to Lyme diagnosis.
Thanks!

Thanks for the post ~ no, I have not posted on the MS board but posted awhile back on the thyroid and FM boards (and maybe CFS).

I was not getting anywhere with treatments for FM or CFS and now thyroid.

I belong to another chat board and the topic of Lyme Disease kept coming up in more and more posts so I started to check it out. I had no knowledge in Lyme until this past Friday when I decided to look over those tests.

I want to call that Dr's office and ask them about it but I don't want to insult anyone by doing it. I am definitely going to request those records as well.

Today I sent out 6 letters.
