Watched Mystery Diagnoses-great info
I just watched the rerun today on Discovery channels" Mystery Diagnoses "about the 17 year old gal who had trouble getting her Lyme Diagnoses. The doctor said sometimes the Lyme Bacteria will not show in the one tube of blood that is usually sent, so he takes 3 tubes and sends them all to different labs? how great is he? . I think her doc's name was Bernard Raxlen? Just an FYI...

I saw that show today also..........pretty good information there. Her doctor is now practicing in NYC. I believe several members here see him also.

I enjoy watching the Discovery Health Channel and especially Mystery Diagnosis.

Hello-
I saw that show too and inturn went to see this doctor. I am from Mass and Dr. Raxlen is from New York (manhatten) needless to say long drive 3 hours plus. LLMDs are very expensive to see but I was told by his PA (carolyn) that I had lyme after all my labs came back and put on IV Rocephin (cephtrioxone 2grams daily) through an IV drip. They said the only way they could treat me was intravenously because I have had lymes soooo long... anyways the meds can be tough, I had to have my gallbladder removed and now my neurologist (from mass) is not even sure if I have lymes or not. He thinks I could have MS since my spinal tap was positive. I have to figure it out either way so I can get properly treated. Good luck hun... Tara
