Hello Everyone,
I have been dealing with a possiable lymes diognoses for almost 4 years now.In the last 2 years my vision is getting worse almost everyday it seems.I have a constant twitch in my left eye all day long and I can hardley focus to read anything on a computer screen, magazine, or a newspaper or anything with small print. I had my eyes checked twice in the last year and they tell me it's not my eyes but maybe neurological problems. When I go into a store with lots of lights a get all dizzy and feel real weird like I want to fall over or something. I have all the symptoms for lymes but my Ignorant Dr won't treat me for it and I am just getting worse. I went and seen Dr. Weisbren In Millwaukee Wisconsin and he spent 2 hours with me and was 100% convinced I have Chronic lymes Disease. He even wrote me a prescription for a Picc line and to start treatment but my Dr here in Minnesota won't write a letter to my insurance company so that It get's covered. Because it hasn't showed up in a blood test yet. I even went through 2 lumbar puntures to try and rule out MS that they told me I had 4 years ago. So I guess I was wondering on here how many people who have been diognosed with Lymes have had vision problems like I described.
I've had all the problems you have and more. I've had to change my PCP to get Lyme treatment. None of my doctors are in the state I live in even my PCP.
My eye problems did get better with treatment.
Hi Kyle many of us have or had vision problems with Lyme. Yes it can do this, so can many bacteria (s) and virus's...
Why don't you ask youir LLMD for oral antibiotics to get on some kind of treatment. I would imagine he can prescribe those. Then after the holiday look for a different G.P. to help you with the picc line. Goind without any type of treatment you will only get worse....
Hi, kyle. Re: your eye issues, can you get a referral to a neuro-ophthalmologist from either your regular eye doctor or PCP? A good one can possibly be very helpful for both diagnosis and sometimes even with insurance approvals. (BTW, I currently have an MS dx myself but I'm not convinced that bacteria doesn't sometimes play a role even in MS cases. That said, you probably know this already but I wanted to mention that a negative LP does not rule out MS...)
I hope you think about going to see a neuro-ophthalmologist -- mine continues to be one of my most helpful doctors!
