Has anyone found a SPECT scan helpful?-spinal tap?
I was reading that this is a good test to have in the potential diagnoses of Lymes? I have lupus and Igenex says Im IGG positive, but not sure which one is causing me to be soooo ill. My rhuemy wants me on immunosupressive meds, but if I truly have lymes, I cant get that treatment. This is a nightmare.
Another top lyme lab came back negative? any suggestions? does a spinal tap help?

Beings I actually was not up on lyme disease and how the test were when i was extremly ill and trying to get a positive...I BEGGED my doctor for a spinal tap. He really was against it....

I would NEVER do one again! I was hurting and sicker for days after wards. My head hurt worse than it had been....there is only about 3per cent chance of getting a positive doing this.

If you have symptoms of Lymes and had a positive I would go with You are positive and get on treatment...Possibly you truly don't have Lupus but are being mis-diagnoised with that....

If you had bands pulled up with your test you have lyme....

Sorry you are having to go through all of this...it is very hard...

p.s. I had atleast 50 spect scans...nothing ever showed up on that either....
