Question short of breath

I would really like some advice and honest answers guys. Im worried and I may just be over the top, however, here goes. For the last 8 weeks or so I have been waking up where I cannot breath. I wake up and it feels like Im being suffocated. I only get about 5 hours and I wake up like a bolt out of the blue not be able to breathe properly. I climb the stairs and Im out of breath, I ate my dinner tonight and the same thing, and it makes me so dizzy. Im sitting in my chair and Im dizzy and cant get enough air. Ok, here,s the truth I do smoke, not a heavy one at that....(YES, i KNOW ITS BAD FOR YOU), however, Does anyone else get this as a symptom, I get palpatations aswel, not too often though. Its this constant, out of breath feeling Im worried about, feel like Im gonna pass out. Iv read that Lymes can contribute or cause some sort of heart problems, does anyone think this is whats going on......any suggestions?.....Thank you...

Re: short of breath

Hi topsy. Shortness of breath and palpitations are hallmark symptoms of the co-infection Babesiosis. Have you been tested for it?

Do you ever have night sweats?

Make sure you to let your doctor know you are experiencing these symptoms.
