| 3rd check up with Dr. R
hi all,
i had my 3rd check up with Dr. R on Tuesday. I'd been feeling really rough for the week before - super painful tail bone and joints in my thighs, a skin infection on my bottom, you name it i was feeling it. but by monday i was feeling a little better. Dr. R showed me the spiral progress chart he uses and said i'm about 35% better! we were supposed to decide whether or not i'd need the PICC, but we decided now that we probably won't need to do it. even though i've had some sensitivities to the meds, but overall i'm responding pretty well. he said if i keep up at this pace i'll be at 80% in 4 months or so and then 100% 6 months after that. boy, i hope this really happens. that was music to my ears, especially since i thought it might take years to beat this thing since i've had it for year. he also said my CD 57 is at 68... that sounded pretty good but now i'm curious what a normal CD 57 is - going to look that up tonight.
he tested me with the dilution bottles, and i was strong enough to resist the weakest 2 dilutions. it doesn't mean much really but it does mean i'm getting better. so i'm starting leviquin on top of the biaxin, plaquenil, and diflucan. i'm also using bactoban abx cream for some of the skin infections. i noticed i feel better on mondays and tuesdays then get a little worse every day from there. fridays are always the hardest. i'm in sooo much pain and i can't help but think it's from a week of 9 hour days at the office. my ears hurt, my throat hurts, the thrush is acting up, and my body aches all over. i'm hoping if i take it slow the next couple of months i can continue to get better.
anyway, i just wanted to share with all of you. i've learned so much from everyone on this board and it's truly been a big part of my feeling up to beating this thing. thanks for putting up with me during all my herx freak outs. i hope we can all kick this lyme in the butt and be 100% soon.
