Lyme Disease bacteria come in 3 forms: Spirochete, Cyst, and Cell Wall Deficient. Each form requires different treatment.

I can tell you that Spirochete means its active, cyst form means inactive the spirochete actually can remain dormant in an hostile enviroment, like when it senses the antibiotic coming to kill it. It can also penetrate into are white blood cells (are cells used for killing this bacteria), tricking the immune system into thinking that it isn't even there.
Complicated I know. I don't think you can see it in an x-ray.
