Re: Alcohol And Lyme!!!
I don't drink much any more because of how my symptoms get worse after alcohol. Pretty much a normal hangover x100 with all the usual lyme symptoms. After about 4.5 months of antibiotics I am able to tolerate one to two drinks much better than I could before.
Alcohol is basically a toxin. It's probably good if you can cut down or cut out drinking totally until you start to figure out what is going on. It will help you body out anyway, regardless of why you don't feel well. Alcohol definitely doesn't help when you have Lyme.
I used to drink a fair amount. 2 beers every night after work and a large amount of drinks on the most of the weekends. Then I realized those 2 beers a night weren't helping. I might feel better for an hour but afterwards and during the next day- I would feel awful. They would just add to my already toxic/crappy feeling symptoms. Since I started not feeling well 3 years ago, I cut out a lot of alcohol, especially over the last 1.5-2 years. It does help. It pisses me off that I can't enjoy some good NON-gluten-free beer, but then again I have been avoiding gluten as much as possible during the last 1.5 years also.
Everything you can do to help your body, will actually help in the long run with Lyme.
Glad to hear about the LLMD appointments. Good luck.
