| LLMD request, recurring knee/joint issues
Hi,
I am looking for a LLMD in the area of northern VA(Winchester/Leesburg) or Hagerstown area of MD. I was diagnosed with Lyme a few years ago after problems with my joints and knee. I was given a 21 day supply of antibiotics and my symptoms went away. However, after about a year, I had knee issues again and was referred to an infectious disease specialist. He was under the impression that I must have contracted Lyme disease for a second time and that chronic or continuing symptoms with Lyme disease did not exist. He said that once I was treated the first time with antibiotics that I should not have any more problems. Anyway, he gave me another round of antibiotics for 21 days and my knee responded well to that. So, another year goes by and I am having more issues with my knee. The pain/ache comes out of nowhere and is accompanied by swelling. At this point, I can't say I have many other symptoms besides my knee though I do question my energy levels and possible fatigue issues.
