Dear Lyme Families,
I am asking each household affected by Lyme and other tick borne diseases to send ONE e-mail to President Bush between February 1 and February 14. Due to the anthrax/mail problem, it is more considerate to
e-mail. (For newbies, we did post cards last year with "Lyme green" hearts.) So that we don't fill the mailbox and prevent all the messages from being delivered, lets divide the list alphabetically. Remember to ask any family and friends who don't have a computer if you may include their names and addresses. No long histories-this is an easy one. Just a name and a town and state and say how many have been bitten, how many of those are chronically ill or have a diagnosed autoimmune disease.

I was fortunate enough to be a patient of the late John Bleiweiss, M.D. He told me in 1989 that research was pointing toward Lyme being a major trigger of autoimmune diseases, especially MS and Lupus. I am inviting those with any autoimmune disease, Chronic Fatigue or Fibromyalgia to join us in the campaign. We know what is being done to our treating
physicians and labs. This is a chance to build on the "Igenex success" and support the efforts of all those who are attending the OPMC Hearing in New York

Request Number 2-Register to vote. PLEASE. You can apply for an absentee ballot over the phone and they send a short card to fill out. Then they automatically mail you ballots for the year. Since they aren't giving you money, there is no problem with the "permanent disability" question. Lyme or Chemical Sensitivity will do, if they use pesticides where you are assigned to vote. 9, 2000 Rheumatology Convention in Philadelphia said "Lyme Kills Voters!"

Please post this invitation every place you can. If you have the energy, send a copy of your e-mail to the President to your elected Senators and Congresspeople.

Put green hearts in your windows and ribbons on your trees and flyers on bulletin boards. Call your local newspaper and tell them about this nationwide campaign.

We need to show our numbers and the "State of OUR Union" to President Bush.
