Lyme Testing - Lyme Disease Message Board

I was just wondering how long it takes to get test results for lyme disease. They sent our daughter's to the CDC and said it would take about a month. I was attempting to find some info out about the testing but have not been successful. However, I did find this message board which has been helpful!

Hi Keith. It usually takes several weeks to get results back. Please realize that no Lyme test is completely reliable. Even the CDC says that a negative test does not rule out Lyme. When it is a possibility, it is very important to see a knowledgeable doctor. Contact local support groups for recommendations. Please read the post on this site called Lyme Disease Information. My cousin has lyme disease. the blood test all came back negative until a doctor in PA did a frozen urine tets. Don't know anything about it but thought I would mention it.
