Help! Need Lymes Info. - Lyme Disease Message Board

Hi! I posted my symptoms on the MS Board. I've been reading a lot about how Lymes & MS have similiar symptoms. I've had the Lymes blood test a few times and they all came back negative, except I remember on one of the tests the neurologist said one of the strands tested postive for the Lymes antibodies, but that is normal. I don't know, I probably have it all wrong, but I could have sworn he said something like that. When the neuros start talking to you w/all those medical terms you just get so lost. I just wish I would have looked further into that cause now it has me wondering and I am not going back to him cause I didn't care for him. I never had a rash & I don't remeber getting bit, but since day 1 when my symptoms started I always thought it was lymes cause my boyfriend lives in the woods & deer are practically on his front lawn. I would love to hear info. that anyone may have.

If you had lyme disease, you would know it!

I never saw my husband so sick as when he had it.

He had flu like symptoms and couldn't get out of bed, then I noticed the rash and took him to the emergency room and thus was diagnosed with lyme disease.

Lyme Disease can affect people very differently. Although a bullseye rash is a definite sign of Lyme, only about 50% of people who have Lyme ever get a rash. It can be very difficult to diagnose because the tests are not completely reliable. It is very important to see a knowledeable doctor. Lyme and MS do have similar symptoms and some people who have Lyme were first diagnosed with MS. I suggest you get copies of all your test results. The Western Blot test shows numerical bands. Even though the CDC requires a large number of bands to show for it to be considered positive, many Lyme doctors focus on which band shows. Some are specific to Lyme.
