Post seeking Dr recommendation - Western CT

I'd appreciate any Dr recommendation(s) in central or the western half of CT. I recently finished a 3-week dose of 300mg per day of doxycycline, but want to see a specialist for a follow-up evaluation, as I recently had a couple bouts of insomnia and minor heart palpitations.

Thank you very much,

Hi, I got doctor recommendations through the Lyme Disease Assoc. You leave them a message and they call you back with lyme literate doctors in your area. THe # is 1 888 366 6611, I wish you luck.

I am seeing an infectious disease specialist at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford, CT. Dr. Cheryl Smith. I will be having a follow up with her on Monday, 10/27. She retested me for lyme disease because my first test on 09/05 was negative - I won't have results until Monday. It's been a horrible couple of months. She is also testing me for lupus and MS because of some of my symptoms - brain fog, mental confusion, dizziness, numb toes and fingers. I never saw a tick bite or rash, but I have had almost all of the symptoms that I read about on this board. I think the doctors should read this board. I did call the Lyme Foundation and they gave me a few names of lyme literate doctors in CT, but all were at least an hour and a half drive for me, mostly down near NYC in western CT. It took them 24 hours to return my call and the woman was a volunteer, who has had lyme for 13 years.

LemonLyme, One more thing, after three weeks of doxycycline, my symptoms slowly came back. My regular doctor, who is not lyme literate but very concerned, put me back on doxycycline for another three weeks. The drug made me nauseous, I was retaining water and now my teeth and gums really hurt (like my teeth want to fall out). I think some of my later symptoms were actually caused by the medication. My doctor is the one who referred me to Dr. Smith in Hartford, but I had to wait three weeks to see her because she is so busy. Dr. Smith said that there is s systemic type of lyme (like mine) and an arthritic type of lyme (swollen, hot joints). The people who are the arthritic type are medicated with an IV therapy.
