Hi everyone, hope you are all doing ok. I have a question about the flu vaccine - I saw my doc last week and forgot to ask her so I figure who better to ask than others with Lyme. I am recently diagnosed so usually my head is spinning when the doc is trying to explain things to me which is why I forgot to ask her.
Does anyone know if the vaccine is recommended for people with Lyme? I got a shot last year and had some side effects - also got the flu 3 days later so..........not sure what to do here. Any advice would be great.
Hmmmmm.................maybe I should have asked - have any of you with Lyme had a flu shot? I know everyone reacts differently and you guys can't really tell me if I should get one or not so maybe you can just share your own thoughts/experiences on this?
My suggestion would be to call your LLMD and ask if it is recommended.
Mine asked if I got flu shots. My reply was that I never had a flu shot in my life and have no intention of starting. I was remarkably healthy until Lyme so my opinion was if it is not broke, why fix it. There are hundreds of flu strains and a flu shot only covers a handful.
I got a flu shot about 15 years ago. Not knowing what was wrong with me at the time. My g.p. said, because your immune system is down. You NEED the flu shot....Oh my gosh never again will i put that crap in my system. I got sooooo ill from it.
I think we all need to remember that if we keep our immune systems up, if we eat right, and take good care of our bodies then it will take care of us.
I am with Guido, if it isn't broke why do something like that.
I had a chiropractor give me a page worth of what is in a flu shot a long time ago. No thanks I will pass.

I agree with Guido and Jodie! Vaccines can cause problems with the immune system and with LD ours are already compromised. A flu shot cannot possibly cover all the many strains of flu anyway. MD's like to push vaccines. I always Just Say No.
My Mom gets a flu shot every year....And every year she gets the flu. For weeks!
She also is getting alsheimers....Just one of the side effects of the flu shot because of all the crude in them.
Now wether the alsheimers is from the shot or some other reason..who knows.
