| Opinions needed...
I am an avid outdoors enthusiast. In my lifetime, I have pulled more ticks off of me, then I dare to take a guess at.
I am going to list my symptoms and/or changes in my body and I would appreciate any feedback you can give me related to the possibility of Lyme Disease.
Fall 2009:
-Experienced my first sinus infection in my life
-During the doc visit for the sinus infection, I was diagnosed with high blood pressure
-December experienced a bout with Bell's Palsy
Spring 2010:
-Began feeling tingling in my left arm
-Tingling spread to the left side of my upper body, including my head
-Docs believed I had MS after numerous MRIs and the brain stem MRI showing white leasions.
-During my 5th blood test looking for Lyme or MS, the Lyme antibodies came back positive for 1 strand. (The doc said I didn't have Lyme, since only one strand was positive)
* as a side note, 2 additional blood tests have come back negative
-A spinal tap was conducted looking for Lyme and MS. Both came back negative.
-The neurological symptoms subsided and no treatment was given.
Spring 2011:
-Began experiencing extreme loss of balance
-Family doctor started me on a 2 500 mg Cefuroxime orally
-After 45 days, symptoms have decreased, but I am still experiencing minor loss of balance issues.
Throughout the past 2 to 3 years, I have become extremely irritable, experiencing short term memory loss, my brain processing seems foggy at times, and any back ground noise (sun roof open, machine running, radio playing, someone speaking behind me, etc) leaves me unable to hear and irritated.
Any opinions regarding blood tests (false negative or false positive) and experiences regarding the listed symptoms and Lyme disease.
In 2007, I was tested for all STD's including HIV and all returned negative. Is there any possibility that the described symptoms could be HIV related?
Thank you!
