Long term abx effects
 

Has anyone who has been on abx for a while to treat lyme had adverse reactions? Can the abx cause thinning hair? In addition to the 3 abx I'm taking, I had started mepron and took it for about a month. It made me sick with over the top nausea and stomach disburance including weight loss. Not long after I started it, my hairdresser noticed that my hair was very thin on top. Very unnerving :(

Long term abx can cause this and a host of other problems. Even short term abx is not without side effects. Be sure to double up on your probiotics. Keifer is also good to drink inbetween. It works better than yogurt to heal the effect of abx denuding the good bacteria from the gut.

[COLOR="Purple"]I lost clumps of hair pre antibiotics...it would be wise to get your thyroid checked and other hormones.

Some of it is just the nature of this disease.
