Hi everyone! I am new to this forum and have many questions I am hoping someone can atleast help with. I was just diagnosed with Lymes this past week. I have read many things on the "herx'ing" that do/may occur. My doctor put me on Teasel Root Tincture instead of antibiotics, she said she has lymes as well and this seems to help. All she has told me is once I start taking it I will know I have lymes if I didn't before. I have been on the drops for 5 days now and all I have experienced are headaches (which are nothing new for me, I stay with them). I am wondering if these drops are even going to work for me. Has anyone else taken them and if so have they helped. I also find myself (may sound dumb) thinking what if the test were wrong and I really don't have lymes. Any help with information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for taking time to listen!
Re. Teasel Root extract, some people will herx with it and feel it is doing something, but then others may not feel much at all. What I would question is using only Teasel Root to hit the infection. This is usually used as an adjunct to either abx or salt/c.
If you tested positive for LD then you are positive! Many people here are hoping to have your results but test negative when they actually have clinical symptoms. What I would question is your doctor's recommendation. Is this person an LLMD (lyme literate medical doctor) or a Naturopath? If you are not getting proper treatment you are giving the bacteria a chance to gain a stronger foothold as they replicate monthly.
Thank you so much for the reply! I am currently with a doctor who is a MD but believes in the natural approach to things as well. She said she suffers from Lyme herself and that is what she's used. She told me once I started the Teasel root, I would know I had lyme. I haven't had any problems on it, in fact I really don't feel much different. Hence, why I said I find myself questioning it. I do realize if I tested positive it is certain, I guess just my way of dealing with things, maybe?
What is abx and salt/c? I have been trying to do as much research as possible (that's what brought me here) and I have seen many people mention abx. I look forward to learning more about this and getting insight from individuals who are dealing with the same situations!
