son had the bulls eye rash...

so my 12 year old was bit we believe saturday sometime..started as a raised red bite...was the same yesterday morning. Got home last night, he shows me..and its a VERY obvious bulls eye..followed hours later by a raised rash on other body parts..but thinking that is just something else, as he was in the grass on the weekend.
Anyway...took to the drs first thing this morning. Dr is a new dr, that was obvious..she said "it could be..." and started him on a 2 week round of tetracycline, and sent us for labs for lyme and RMSF...wont get those back for a few days at least.
Im assuming lyme, since bulls eye was obvious, right? And since we caught it early should all be ok..no other obvious symptoms...

A bulls eye rash following a tick bite is a pretty clear indication of Lyme Disease. The chances of being LD free are excellent since you got on it early, but I wouldn't fool around with a doctor who does not specialize in lyme. Long term affects can be devastating if Lyme isn't treated properly, i.e. long enough and with the right kind of abx. Look for an LLMD - lyme literate medical doctor in your area.
