| Lyme and Insurance
Hi Everyone,
I have a friend who's been battling Lyme Disease for past three years or so. She has been on and off abx treatment (which helped) but right now she has stopped because she could no longer afford them.
She said her insurance (Kaiser) does not recognize chronic lyme disease as an official diagnosis and will not cover abx treatment. She has been diagnosed with Lyme by her doctors but this does not help the process. According to her none of the insurance companies are willing to cover the treatment and without it the out of pocket cost is anywhere from 500-1000 a month for abx treatment.
Have you guys found an insurance carrier that will cover your treatment? She is getting worse as she is struggling with major migraines and joint pains. I read some people talk about alternative treatments that was as effective as abx... do you care to share some of them?
