| Some questions abourt Lyme, please help me
Until now I've had several tests done for Lyme disease and co-infections. I had CD57, LTT, ELISA, IFA, Western blot done from blood and also lumbar puncture. Only test that was very positive was CD57. All other tests came back negative. My CD57 numbers are 30 (below 60 is active Lyme disease), and 1.4 (below 5 is Lyme).
They suspect that I have neuro late stage of Lyme, I was bitten by many ticks about 10 years ago. I have all kinds of devastating symptoms from complete loss of memory, very bad tremor, weird vision, unable to concentrate, headaches, stiff neck, fever for straight 3 months...
I'm on Doxycycline right now for 6 days (400 mg/day) and until now nothing!! It doesn't help me at all, I didn't notice any changes for worse or better. Also it didn't decrease my ongoing fever.
My doctors don't want/can't give me any IV antibiotics because they say that they do not have enough evidence to back up that I truly have Lyme disease. There was only one positive test, which was CD57 test, so they do not want to treat me with anything.
I got some more referrals for immunologist and rheumatologist, so that they also check me.
Is there a chance that my body is NOT reacting to Lyme disease and that there aren't any antibodies produces hence no antibody reaction and no response to ABX and that all tests which test antibody reaction for Lyme (ELISA, IFT, WB) are negative?? Is this possible?? Is there any other kind of disease that would severely decrease CD57?? Any ideas what I should do??
