questions

I'm reading through these posts but there are so many. I have a few questions. How do you get tested for lyme? How do you find the right type of doctor?

I'm really trying hard to come up with more options to figure out what is wrong with my husband since the doctors so far have given up. And we are waiting on appointments with others but he has seen someone in almost every field already. Symptoms are occasional balance problems (close to falling over), confusion, forgetfulness, inability to complete sentences, anger paranoia, low platelets, joint pain, abdomen pain. These are at times every day. Often massive vomiting. He's about 45 lb in the past 4 months. Oddly when vomiting is the worst, he's thinking clearer except for dehydration. On very rare occasions he feels perfect. He's too young for age related issues but that doesn't eliminate them completely. I'm just trying to examine every path since doctors at this point are giving up. This has been getting worse over about 5 years.

Re: questions

Hi, good for you for looking into other things he "could" have.

There are 2 post above, Lyme Newbies, and How to share LLD names.

There is also a thread on lyme symptoms above.

Lyme can Mimic over 300 different conditions.

His symptoms sound like many of us. After 12-13 years of treatment. I still vomit on occasion. Lord who knows why.

From where you are sitting you can order a test kit through Igenex Lab. You will need to take it to a doctor to have the lab slips signed off. Make sure to get a copy. Most likely you will have to pay out of pocket.
After 12 years of treatment I finally tested positive. It is very hard to get a positive for many reasons. So the reason it would be wise to get him to a Lyme Literate Medical Doctor. (LLMD) They will go mainly on clinical evaluation.

I stopped going to western med doctors after I found out what I truly had. Treating the cause and not the symptoms is the best way to go.

I hope this helps some.

Jodie
