In the fall of 2011, I came down with what felt like the flu, my flu eventually went away but I was left with a tingling sensation on the tip of my tongue, and intermittent joint pain that jumps from one side to the other (wrists). Flash forward to winter I began to come down with a sore throat with pus, my lymph nodes were swollen (back of neck and throat) and had malaise. I all went downhill from there. During that period, my symptoms mutated into:
-SEVERE derealization
-Horrible chest pains
-increase in eye floaters
-anxiety attacks
-ibs (mucus in stools, change in consistency)
-I had a fever that reached to at least 104F
-developped rashes on my body, an especially bad one that still keeps flaring on my face
My "strep throat" went away eventually but took 3 rounds of antibiotics. I am still feeling sick from that episode. Symptoms I now have are:
-DEREALIZATION
-IBS
-joint pain (not only in wrists, but the knees and ankles)
-eye floaters (crystal worms and dots, even little crystal circles)
-depression
-horrendous anxiety attacks (sense of impending doom)
-rashes
-increased allergies
-sore throat
-chest pain
-headaches
-easy bruising
-lightheadness
-tip of my nose will start to go numb
-hands and face will go numb for no reason
-pins and needles
-fatigue
....
The tests I have done so far are:
-4+ EKGs
-10+ CBCs
-Stool Sample
-eye exam
-Lupus ANA, Arthritis blood test.
-HIV test
-EBV test (3)
-Chest X-ray
A lot more tests have been done, it's a lot to keep track on.
I used to live in Whitby, ON where I would often be out at the lake, bike riding, sitting in the grass and going to parks. I was always outdoors. I have never seen a tick bite me. Would it be worthwhile to get an igenex test done? Or would it just be a big waste of time and money?
OH and I wanted to mention a big one.
YEAST INFECTIONS ---> puts a damper on sex life for sure
BRAIN FOG----> I feel like I've got cobwebs in my head and I can't think clearly, easily distracted
Your symptoms are the same ones that I had. My story is just about like yours. However I had extreme muscle weakness and lost my memory too. I got sick in November 2011. Mine started out very similar. I was in the hospital twice. They ran every blood test and did every other type of test too. Every test was negative. The doctors basically told me I was crazy. Thank god I got a hold of someone who had lyme and referred me to an llmd. My bloodwork was done thru igenex. I had lyme, Babesia, and bartonella. I have been on antibiotics and supplements since dec 2011. I'm getting better but still have some neuro symptoms. I didn't work from nov 2011-aug 2012. I'm working now, and do ok. It is hard because my eyes aren't functioning like I want and I get bad brainfog. But at least I can walk, drive, laugh, smile, and I feel like living again. The anxiety I had is indescribable. I seriously wanted to die. There is hope. I would try to get to an llmd.

Hey thank you for such a quick response! Have you also had what feels like head tremors? Like someone stuck a buzzing phone in the back of your brain? That was a symptom I left out! I'm very glad that you are on your way to recovery am I'm happy to know there's hope.
I had electrical shocks in my eyes that literally would electrocute me. My face was numb. I had pressure in my head that made me feel like I was going to explode. My ears buzz and ring still.
I don't know if this will be lifelong, but I want you to know you can get better to the point of being able to function fairly well. My neuro symptoms still bother me, but I don't have any other symptoms anymore.

Yikes! I had the same thing! Would scare the crap out of me! Now as testing goes, I've probably had this going on for a little more that a year. What Igenex test do you recommend? Which one did you take?
I live in Ontario so it will be very very ch***enging to get a diagnosis.

I don't know what tests for you to order. If you contact igenex maybe they can help you. My llmd ordered mine. I would do whatever I could to try to find an llmd. You re***y don't want this to continue - otherwise the infection just overtakes our bodies. If you can't get to an llmd, a naturopathic dr would also be of great help. I see both. I take 92 pills a day! Six are antibiotics - the rest are supplements to help heal my immune system.
