lyme test

I had a positive 66kd band. The test did not go to Igenex. My dr says its prob not lyme, but gave me doxycycline to take for 2 months. He is an infect control dr. I called a llmd and they stated if any strand positive raises red flag. Any input? thanks

Re: lyme test

Hi, what symptoms are you displaying? I am sure that as you read through the post from many of us, you see that test are not accurate. But you mainly need to go on symptoms.

I would highly recommned you getting to a Lyme Literate Medical Doctor. Many of them do not take insurance. so would have to be out of pocket.

Band 66 is a borrelia band.

You could be tested through Igenex. But seeing a LLMD first might be the best thing to do and go from there.

Wish you all the luck in the world in finding a protocol for you.

Jodie

Re: lyme test

I have almost every symptom of lyme. I was dx with pots - which mimics lymes. I have no known cause for my pots and neuropathy - which lymes could cause both. what about a holistic dr that looks into lyme and parasites - hes a lot cheaper

I also developed P.O.T.S. This is not uncommon for lymies. A Naturopath who is skilled in treating lyme patients would certainly be acceptable, if you prefer to go alternative, but this would probably also be "out of pocket". I would be cautious of other docs who say they treat lyme but are not LLMDs. Most infectious disease, RA, etc. docs are not trained or skilled in handling this infection, even though they may tell you that they are. We have all been down that road!

How important is your health to you? Unless you opt for a protocol like Salt/C or an herbal regime, which are certainly great choices as well, you will have to expend $ to get the help you need because lyme specialists are expensive and almost never covered on insurance.

I wish you the best in figuring this out.

Jen
