Lyme herx lasting months

i am confused. People who have Lyme say they feel better on abx. My pain increases double, the burning in my legs gets worse, sciatica, neck pain, heart palpitations, I can't sleep much and I am so anxious and have anger issues I am so restless and terrible left sided headaches. I am a anxious mess. this happens EVERYTIME I go on abx. The dr. Pulls me off for a time and then things settle down a bit and then we try again. But this ALWAYS happens. A renowned Lyme Dr. Told me I should feel better on abx and a herx only lasts a few weeks at most.

How can this be Lyme when I NEVER feel better on abx? Have been on Rifampin and Zith since end of NOv. I don't want to stop this time thinking this will eventually pass. I drink lots of water and take probiotics. I am positive with Igenex, false-pos with CDC Lyme test (that is what the CDC dr. Said without seeing me), CD-57 test is 22, pos Bartonella test. Any experience and or suggestions? I have hyper reflexes but MRI's are clear so I have tried to rule out everything else at great expense. Thanks for any responses

Re: Lyme herx lasting months

My herxes seemed never ending on antibiotics. I found herbs to be much more gentle on my system, which made the herxes less severe.

Re: Lyme herx lasting months

I have been on abx for 14 months. I was deathly ill. I herxed for a year. I was so sick and bedridden. I am on so many supplements and abx. Do not give up. I am so much better. I have healed my immune system homeopathically and used the antibiotics to kill the bacteria. Keep plugging away a day at a time. I wanted to call it quits, but I never did. I am working and living again.

Re: Lyme herx lasting months

Some of the LLMD's say to treat all co's such as Babesia, Bartonella, ect...pre treating Lyme.

Maybe you have one or more of the coinfections that need treatment. (just a thought)

Hope you feel better soon!

Jodie

Lala: I followed my naturopath's protocol. I used Olive Leaf extract, grapefruit seed extract, clove and cinnamon oils and a couple others.

Re: Lyme herx lasting months

Hope:
It sounds too easy. I just started antibiotics two weeks ago. So far I don;t feel any herxing. Don't know whether it would have happened by now or whether it won't happen. I was already taking some supplements for a few years before I was officially positive a few weeks ago. We will see how it goes. LaLa
