If you are thin and the nodes are near the surface they can be felt but it is not necessarily a sign that something is wrong. However, when some one is truly ill, the nodes can be swollen and not be detected except by accident during an xray MRI, CAT scan procedure and some one can be very ill.
But there is usually other symptoms happening even if the person experiencing the symptoms, does not relate it to anything important.
No one wants to get a surprise illness, but there is also no need to dwell on possibilities. It is a waste of time. However, every one should be familiar with what is normal for them in order to know if something is not normal. Once you have figured out that what you feel is normal, then if it changes, you will know it.
