Does this neccessarily mean that I don't have cancer? Can I finally be relieved? Does this stuff always show up in blood tests?
And do you think the ENT will still want to do a biopsy? My appt. with him is tomorrow morn.
I'm only in my early 20s, and really stressing out here. Can someone help me out? |
The blood work does not rule out anything conclusively. Lymphoma can not be detected in blood work, it is a cancer of the lymph system, the biopsy would be what would define the diagnosis. If they get a good sample meaning lots of cells instead of lots of tissue, debris, then they will get a good answer. If the biopsy comes back questionable, then the doctor will order more testing, such as CAT Scan, MRI, to look for any other masses, tumors etc... But if they get a good sample, and it says no cancer cells present, then you can relax. I hope that everything turns out well for you. I also hope that you realize that lymphoma has a very high cure rate if you find yourself diagnosed with it.
