Hi Wish,
Marimac gave you good advice. I just wanted to add that you should
never feel embarrassed about asking for help from your doctors and if they make you feel bad, find new ones. I know that is not as easy without insurance, but prior to getting the insurance I have now, I was lucky enough to find a great health practioner through a friend. There are good doctors out there who follow the oath that they signed, "first do no harm" regardless if a patient has health coverage or not and their primary goal is to make you feel better. Generalized lymphadenapothy can be reactive based, but the possibility of lymphoma is there and the faster you get the proper dx, the better it will be for you. Lymphoma is actually the slowest diagnosed cancer with an average time from onset to diagnosis being a year to 14 months. Doctors hesitate to biopsy, watch and wait and give antibiotics. You know your body better than they do, if you feel something is wrong, press on until you get answers. As you know, smoking is not a wise thing to do, but believe it or not, one person can smoke for 40 years and get no cancer and another can smoke for 5 and come down with it. Some people are simply more susceptible to cancer than others.
