Awaiting Biopsy - Lymphomas Message Board

Hello. About two months ago, I noticed a swollen lymph node in my groin area. My doctor put me on antibiotics thinking it was an infection in my body. The lymph node did not go down, in fact, it got bigger. Yesterday, I had surgery to remove the lymph node. I am currently awaiting the pathologist report. The only other sypmtoms I've had are fatigue. What are the chances of this being cancer?

i have read that lymphomas generally don't start in the groin area but im not a doctor. i also have swollen groin lymph nodes, i used antibiotics and nothing happened, mine are still there but they are about 1 cm and under, i went and seen two other doctors and a urologist and had a ct scan and they all said not to be worried about it and the ct scan of my pelvis and abdomen found nothing abnormal. if u don't mind i wondering how big were your lymph nodes and how big did they get

Thank you for your reply. I appreciate it. I only have one swollen lymph node. It started out about the size of a pea two months ago. I just had it taken out Thursday and it had grown to about the size of an almond. I am not sure the size in cm. I did the anitbiotic thing to and it didn't work. Thanks again for your reply.

i wish u the best of luck and i hope it is just reactive, let me know when u get the results, i can truely feel what u are going through, i too tried everything to get it checked out and every doctor told me not to worry about it. i don't know your age but cahnces are if u are young, it is probly something benign, ill pray for u
