whats the differnce of hodgikins and non- hod.I am new to this sight and I have so many concerns. I have 2 kids a low paying job and no insurance.I don't want and can't afford to run to the doctor for everything. but since the lump had no pain i wander if theres more in my body I don't know about.some of the places you guys have found them I have never heard of so looking there is not a possibilty. is ther anything else i could look for besides the other symptoms from my last message before going to see a doctor

I would goto your doc, and get it checked out. I am in the same boat as you I have 3 small children, we do have insurance but I stay at home with my children so money is always tight. I have found 2 swollen nodes under my jaw that have gottena little bigger with time, my DH told me to ignore them too. I just couldn't do that. I figure its better to find out and start treatment right away if I do have it, I DO NOT want to leave behind my small children.

From everything I have read about hodgkins and non-hodgkins is that there are two forms of lyphoma one is non NHL(non-hodgkins lymphoma) the other is HD (hodgkins disease) They both have the same symptoms. The ones you are discribing, itching weight loss, and a painless swollen lymph node. HD is the better of 2 evils, it is curable and has a very high % of survial. NHL on the other hand seems to be a little tougher.

I would see if you can get in to see a doc, and see what they say. I will be getting my nodes biopsyed ASAP.

thanks I am really scared. we have a primetime care in our hospital its like the emergency room but you see a nurse instead of doctor.it justseems like every one is saying that the doctors are saying go home and don't worry thats not a responce i want i want to know what it is

You can ask for a blood test, a ultrsound, ct scan, and or a MRI. All of those thing are helpful. But the only true way to know is to biopsy it.
I would see another doc for another opinion, if they are competent, and you show symptoms of any of the lymhpomas, they should be seeking to find out.

I had no symptoms at all...just a sudden huge lump near my collar bone. I went to my walk in clinic hmo GP doc, and my chest x-ray were fine, and bloodwork normal, but they sent me the very next day to have ultrasound, and from then on I have been on a warp speed course of them doing tests and biopsies.

I hope to have final pathology report this week.
