Worried newbie, please help! - Lymphomas Message Board

hello everyone -

this is my first time posting, and i'm really hoping someone can help me out. i've had swollen lymph nodes in three different places in my neck for almost five months without the swelling going down at all. now about a month and a half ago i found a large lump in my groin.

what i'm wondering is 1) where in the groin does the lump need to be a lymph node instead of, say, a cyst? is it possible to have swollen lymph nodes right next to the genitals (i'm female)? and 2) should i be concerned about any of this/see a doctor? i don't want to go to a doctor if i don't need to, for i really can't afford it.

any help would be greatly appreciated. =D

you can look up lymph nodes on the internet and it will show you a goood pic of locations, and yes there are lymph nodes in groin area.

swollen lymph nodes can be caused by MANY things, like infections, virus, epstein barr, mono, etc. You prob have nothing to worry about, but I think it would ease your mind to go to a doc, plus he may put you on antibiotics.
