As far as I know, lymphoma makes little to no appearance in the blood - perhaps beside cytokine levels which are seldom measured. Leukemia is (a type of lymphoma), which does appear in the blood. Lymphoma tends to be restricted to the lymph nodes, causing enlargement. I'm sure as it progresses to more severe manifestions, appearances in the blood will begin to occur.
A slightly different answer. A gland is as said, a secretory organ. Lymph nodes and glands can be easily confused by the uninformed, especially in the neck region where many glands (sublingual, submandibular, parotid, thyroid, parathyroid) occur in close approximation to many lymph nodes.
