I have a lump behind my Ear - Lymphomas Message Board

I'm 14 and I noticed yesterday in class a small knot behind my right ear. I didn't think much about it then.But this morning I woke and it was hard,swollen and sore. This knot is not red and isn't noticable unless I turn my head completly left. I'm kinda scared to go to the doctor. Can anyone please give me any advice as what it could be. Thanks!!!

Don't worry about seeing a doctor. Chances are, your node is swollen from a minor infection. It really doesn't take much for a node to swell (bug bite, cavity, scratch, pimple, etc..) I'm sure your doctor will be able to relieve your worries. Nevertheless, if your swelling doesn't go down, make sure that you continue to follow up with your dr.

Thanks for the advice. The knot has went down considerbly since yesterday and is no where near as sore. I think in about another day it'll be gone.(hopfully) My mom was trying to convince me I had the Mumps.I didn't really listen because I've had my shots and everthing.Plus it looked and felt nothing it.I was worried it might have been a tumor or some kind of cyst.
