Yes, that is a type of blood testing that allows them to spot genetic alterations in the blood and lymph systems. IT is definitely supportive of diagnosing blood cancers.

For you it is a simple blood draw. For the laboratory doctors it is a bit complicated. I do not have the ability to describe the process off the top of my head but only major laboratories do these tests and they can be expensive. This as to do with how far the testing must go in order to get a conclusive diagnosis since the testing has to be compared relative to the types of blood cells being tested or in some cases tissue samples. This is an extremely simplified explanation and maybe some one else could explain better.
