The doctors are in a better place to tell you what is going on than any one here. The lymph node biopsy done by needle is not as accurate as the removal of the entire lymph node. The needle biopsy is done with numbing of the surface of the skin if the lymph node is on the surface of your body. If the lymph nodes are deeper in the body they sometimes have to do the surgery with you asleep. Either way it is not a pleasant thing to do and should be a call that is made by the doctor who is treating you.

Re: please help!!

When I had my biopsy, I was under versaid (spelling?) and morphine. They said it was like a twilight sleep. I don't remember anything. It took about 15 minutes. I had no pain afterward and went to work the next day. I never felt anything but the tape sticking to me. It was done at the hospital as outpatient surgery.
