Been seeing a Hematologist for a few years because my white blood count is elevated it has not gone done to normal the whole time i have been seeing him.
He has blammed it on many things like!
1. Anemia...which was corrected when i got iron infusions right now i am not anemiac.
2. Medications..A steriod for my lungs, which i am no longer on.
3. Allergies..I now take meds and shots for allergies
4. Stress..I don't feel i am under much stress.
5. Infection...I have been tested by 12 doctors for every single thing you can think of and show no sign of any infections.

My last visit which was last week my wbc was 17. and he blammed it on stress from the holidays. My wbc has not gone down and it worries me he has not done 1 test to see if i have cancer because it runs in my family.
Well, i went for a second opinion and the doctor said since i am already seeing another doctor he feels there is nothing he can do for me. He trusts my doctors opinions. I suffer from chronic pain, severe nausea and just want to give up sometimes. I feel noone listens to the pain i have and have people telling me i my sickness is in my head.
Has anyone else been thru this?

My wbc usually stays 15 to 22

The things that can cause high white blood counts are any treatments or medications for allergies. Also the sound of your post indicates that you may be having stress but do not recognize it because you are focusing on your blood counts. 10-17 is slightly elevated and can indicate that your body is doing well and so the white blood cells are in your blood rather than residing in your tissues. White blood cells go back and forth between your blood and the small capillaries in your skin and internal organs. A person who smokes cigarettes or uses marijuana can have a White blood count of up to 20 without anything more going on than an allergy to smoke. I do not want to disregard your concerns but depending on what medical system you are in the quality of medicine is either very good or very poor. If you continue to feel ill, ask your doctor for specific tests such as Tuberculosis test, or test for mono, or the usual. Sometimes the test itself is not reliable and needs to be re-done. Mostly try not to think about something being wrong until you can address the issue with a medical professional again.
