Swollen lymph node in groin - Lymphomas Message Board

I have be experiencing some intermittent pain in my left lower abdomen. It is never very bad and some days, is not there at all. Sometimes it is more of a sore ache in the centre lower abdomen and sometimes it is slightly higher up on the left side. Sometimes if I move sharply to that side, I get a pain. I do think it is less now than a week or so ago. Now I have a swollen lymph node in the right groin. It is about 1.5 cm in length and maybe 1cm wide. It is difficult to tell as, by touching it repeatedly, I have made the skin around it quite puffy. It hurts a little from time to time. I would have thought if a swollen lymph node is related to an infection or tumour, it would appear on the same side of the body....any comments on this please?

As I posted something similuar in a previous post... my boyfriend about a year ago had one in his groin area, something that I did not mention berfore was that it did start hurting like under his arm, then moved to the groin, he had it tested and they found out that it was CAT SCRATCH FEVER, he had surgery to remove it, they said that it was the size of a grapefruit! It would've went away in time but because it was causing him pain they went ahead and removed it. Also about a week prior to that his son had a golf ball size swollem lympnode under his armpit. It looked like a golf ball,, he couldn't even put his arm all the way down. We were very concerned.. it ended up being the same thing, and his just went away within 2 months.
