lump of left coratid artery - Lymphomas Message Board

Hi everyone,

I am new to this board and would love any advice, a few weeks ago I noticed
a lump on the left side of my neck. I have a few medical problems including
severe RA, DDD and Hasimotos Thyroiditis. I went to the ENT and was told that she felt a lump on my coritid artery, I am having a Cat Scan on Mon. and I am somewhat worried about this. Has anyone ever had a similar problem? I have concerns because of the medication I take for RA, I take Humeria injections weekly and one of the side effect is Lymphomas. I appreciate any help you can give. Have a wonderful weekend!

I have heard that about Humara and hope that it is not the case for you. However, If it is, you are in good hands at the beginning and will not have to go through a lot of diagnostics like most do. Good luck and hopefully it is just a fluke that will go away on its own.

Thanks for your reply, I had the cat scan done this morning so I hope I will have an answer this week. Do you know what type of lymphoma is associated with these types of RA drugs? I am so appreciative of the help on these boards!!

Unfortunately, the type of lymphoma basically depends on which lymphnode/s are effected. That again has to be determined by biopsy.

Just read a new article on lymphoma that says the degree of the disease of Rheumatoid Arthritis is what causes lymphoma. So the way the article reads, if you have severe Rheumatoid Arthritis you may have a higher chance of getting lymphoma, but if you are on an immunosupressant drug you may be helping to prevent it. Its new information. Don't know what to believe about it.
