I'm certain there must be a number of people who have survived their lymphoma on this board, but I couldn't find this topic. So for anyone out there braving their diagnosis and/or treament-lymphoma is survivable!!
I had non-Hodgkins large T cell diffuse 18 years ago. Eight months of some pretty heavy chemo and lots of anxiety later, cancer's gone. My love goes out to all of you. Further!

Thanks for that! I think I needed to read something like that today. I am two cycles into treatment for grade 1 follicular lymphoma stage 1V and feeling like "should I be even bothering with this?" There seems to be such a high incidence of recurrence, sometimes only after a few months, and the chemo is making me feel really off! Your recovery gives me hope!

I have Large B Cell Difuse Non Hodgkins Lymphoma

I was dxd on Dec 21st last year so am comming up on my 1st year anniversay

I went thru 4 rounds of RCHOP chemo lost my hair exactly at 2 weeks
and 20 units of Radiation would never do it again... at least not on my face and neck... lost all of my taste buds... could not eat or barely swallow.. lost 40pounds.. ( i needed to ..lol)

I too have been concerned abou the large percentage of recurrance.....
i have just found a knot on my shin... will be asking the hematologist about it in december...

I think we can all use some info and ""good"" stories!!!

and Remeber we are hear for everyone!!!

I'm 32 yr old female, diagnosed at 30 with Hodgkins Lymphoma in april 2005.

In my experience not even the chemo was that bad - don't get me wrong, it was not how I would choose to spend every other thursday afternoon for 8 months, but if you've been recently diagnosed, please DO NOT listen to media hype! For me to say that is something as anyone who knows me would be able to tell you what a great big wimp I am - hate needles and hospitals!!

I am going for my check up on wednesday and can honestly say that I'm not even worried. (Even hoping they will change the frequency of appointments from 3mnth to 6 mnth)

The cure rate is fantastic these days!

What I'm trying to say is that it's no longer a death sentence and I view it as merely a blip. I haven't felt this good for years!!!!!
