| Hodgkins again after 6 months, maybe a transplant?
Hi I am 26 and recently recovered from hodgkins lymphoma. I had 6 months of chemotherapy, had a PET scan and everythin was clear. I just had my 6 month checkup , a ct scan and the doctor said my mass of scar tissue that was left has shown a significant increase in size. The doctor then tells me he is worried the cancer has returned. I am currently waiting to get another Pet scan to find out. The doctor says that if the cancer has returned I may need a transplant. I dont know much about a transplant, my understanding is that its a higher dose of chemo and they take bone marrow out, freeze it and put it back after treatment. Does anyone know how long this type of treatment could take and does anyone have any information. I am so upset, scared and I cant imagine goin through this again and by the sounds of it , an even worse treatment then the first time.
