umm idk if i have lymphoma but i have lots of the symptoms n im really scared that i might my doctor scheduled me for a ct scan and im scared that i might have it what are others symptoms of it and how did they find out they had it it would really help if someone answered me thank you

hello.. im sorry that your worried the worst is waiting.. but i really dont know if i can help you i'am new to this board and it doesnt seem like a lot of conversations are going on so its hard to say what to expect.. all i can say is i have had multiple blood drawn with no answers as to why my lymph nodes are swelling and multypling , i have had 2 ct scans in the last 2 weeks with no answers and at this time im waiting for a biopsy from a needle to come back.. for as much as i read on this board it seems like the best way to find out is a biopsy.. maybe you should ask your doctor about having one.. sorry if im not that helpful...

I agree this board is not very active! However, it is true that biopsy is the best way to dx lymphoma. Needle biopsies are not reliable and often result in excisional biopsies being done. I had to have surgery on enlarged lymph nodes that showed up on a ct scan in my abdomen and the results were lymphoma. Even if it is, there are lots of treatments and the more aggressive lymphomas are curable. The indolent ones are not curable but treatable.

I had a 2 cm tumor in my face even with my ear!
I really didnt have any enlarged nodes.. it didnt show up in blood test.

had the tumor removed (after they did a fine needle aspiration - which came back benign --) After removing the tumor which they thought was a tumor of the salivary glad and it wasnt... Sent it out to pathology.. came back Difuse Large B Cell Non Hodgkins Lymphoma. This will all be a year on Dec 14th.

Didnt really "have" any of the "normal" symptoms.. not Night Sweats ( mine were in the daytime.

After the diagnosis.. I had a port placed and did 4 rounds of RCHOP ( strong chemo) followed by 20 units of radiation.

Now I have had a siezure ( they think the radiation affected some areas of my brain} so now I am going to have to take antisiezure meds... I see my hematologist every 3 months - have CT scans and blood work... so much frun --- so little time!

Just stick with your DR.. ask questions.. look it up on the web... post it here we will answer and help all we can!!!
