I've had this fever for about 3 years along with high WBC, high sed rate, and a high crp level of 22.3 -- the doctors have been doing tests, sending me from one to another, each of them just saying they do not know. The WBC goes from 14 to 25, sed rate is about 40, the crp is 22.3 and the fever goes from 99 to 101+. During the past 3 month the pulse rate has decided to be 146 and sometimes higher. Now I've noticed I have this lump or rather lumps -- one pretty large and the others smaller on my right side, just below the rib cage. They only hurt if you happen to press directly on them. I'm scheduled to have a Gallium scan beginning tomorrow because they are trying to locate this inflammation or whatever it may be. I feel like heck, always tired, everything seems to hurt especially my neck and now this thing on the right side. The WBC and swollen glands in the neck have worried me -- I'm afraid they could be some type of cancer. Now there is this thing on the right side, should I be worried??

The thing is you will probally worry regardless of what anyone says. You do have abnormal things going on, however, this does not have to be cancer either. There are a host of other things it could be. I would not quit though until someone tells what is wrong. Too often the medical community throws the baby out with the bath water because they just "dont know". Not acceptable! Keep forcing the issue. Its your health at stake and please let us know what happens..also, you may want to ask for a PET SCAN. This can diagnose cancer "hot spots" at a cellular level. Guarunteed, if its cancer, or anthing else, this test will find it. Good Luck!
