What's the success rate with treatment. I want to be prepared for the worst but pray for the best. Does anyone know???

Success rates depend on the disease severity, the patient's own immune system, and then the exact combination of drugs or other therapy that varies from individual to individual. If the disease is indolent and there are few side effects going on from the disease, then the treatments may not have to be so strong. If the disease is more aggressive, then the treatments may have to be stronger, but the cure rate has been reported to be fairly high. The disease effects everyone differently and so no one can give you a good statistic without knowing the exact things that the oncologist knows.

It's hodgekins does that make any difference in treatment and recovery?

Generally speaking Hodgekins disease has had a statistically higher rate of control of the disease than non-Hodgkins but the statistics are changing due to better medications and on the downside, the HIV/AIDS infections rates are causing the statistics to go sidewards. That means that any success rates in treating the two diseases, are being changed by new diagnoses as a result of HIV involvement. So, truly although your questions are good and I understand your concerns, only your loved one and the doctor can figure out the statistical picture at this point. In people who do not have HIV, the control rate for both diseases is fairly good for a fairly long while if everything else is in good shape to start with.
