I am a 31 year old female who found a mass in my pelvic area last week. I woke up one morning and my right lymph node was swollen, as was the area around the mass. Pain was radiating down my right thigh, into my back and my right hip. I have had hip pain for the past month and mild pelvic pain, thought it might be bercitis but now think it is related.

I was running a fever of around 100 degrees the day I went to the doctor. They checked me for ovarian cyst and found none. My doctor felt it was a fatty mass but wanted to make sure so set up a CAT scan.

I went to the CAT scan on Friday. The radiologist told me if it was a fat mass that they would know right a way because it wouldn't show up on the scan, it would blend in. Next day I got the results, and it wasn't a fat mass and my doctor said he doesn't know what it is but doesn't think it is anything bad but wants me to see a surgeon to do a biopsy.

So now I'm freaked out because he keeps saying its probably nothing but would he really ask for a biopsy if he thought that? I don't know, I'm just freaked out because I didn't think it would go this far.

Over the past few months I have been getting sick, usually with sinus infections, tontsillitis almost monthly. I feel really run down and always tired but since I am the mother of a toddler and work full time, I am always tired

Anyone have any ideas? I'm just waiting to do my biopsy and get the results without going crazy first. Any ideas on what kind of biopsy they might do? Thanks!
