Does anyone know anything about the Chemo Pill?? - Lymphomas Message Board

Hi... My husband is in the diagnosing stages of Lymphoma. They are telling us this looks like Non hodgkins T-Cell Lymphoma. They are also considering it might be a Cutaneous Lymphoma.

We are very new to this and we are not familiar with all the terms. The doctor told us that if this is the Cutaneous Lymphoma he would give my husband the Chemo Pill.... Does anyone know the side affects of this pill?

The doctor said that if the lymphoma was in the body than he would have to get radiation. He said it could possibly blind him in one eye.... he has lumps that come up on the side of his nose and forehead.

It took several doctors to diagnose this after 6 long months of dealing with this. The doctor said that the cancer being so close to his eye could affect his sight. Has anyone else dealt with anything like this?

My husband has non-hodgkins of the brain. He underwent IV chemo which failed and then 33 rounds of whole brain radiation. He is taking an oral chemo drug called Temodar now. He takes this for 5 consecutive days every 28 days. The first 2 cycles of this drug hit him very hard but he just finished the third cycle and basically had no side effects at all except weakness and fatigue. This drug did cause him to lose all his hair after the first cycle. He will continue to take this chemo drug for a while. He is now in remission and if this drug helps keep the cancer away it is well worth the few side effects he has.

Did the radiation have any affect on his eye sight? That is great that he is in remission! We are very anxious and we will find out results from his biopsy on Wednesday.

He went through a period of about 2 weeks towards the end of radiation that his vision was blurry but it cleared up within days after his treatment ended. Good Luck!!!

Thanks!! This has been such an emotional rollarcoaster which I am sure you know all about.
