Side effects of Vincristine - Lymphomas Message Board

Hi,

I've just had my 3rd R-Chop treatment in a series of eight. Second one wasn't too bad but this 3rd one has really creased me. I feel like I have frostbite in my feet and hands along with the usual side effects.

Is there an alternative to Vincristine? I have Large B-Cell Lymphoma.

I'm on the verge of stopping the chemo and trying alternative treatment but wonder if that would be wise. Just can't face another 5 treatments like this.

I don't have an answer for you, but I had ABVD chemo a few month's back, plus radiation. It was rough, too.

I'm still waiting to get a Pet/CT scan to see if I'm in remission.

Just wanted to encourage you...
I know it's hard. The weekend's get quiet here sometimes, and hopefully someone more informed will send you a post.

Thanks Singer,

Been off line for a couple of days because I had to go into hospital. They told me that the neuropathy could possibly be permanent which was a bit of a shock. I think they are stopping the vincristine and giving me another similar drug called vinblastin ( I think that's what the doc said ) I've done some difficult things in my life but this chemo certainly takes the biscuit.

I don't have cancer, so I hope you don't mind me posting here. I did watch my ex go through platinum based chemo for lung cancer and I just wanted to say I really admire the strength and courage people with this disease show in the face of the terrible treatment for it.

I swore I would never have chemo when I saw what he went through, but, of course, that is easy to say when not faced with the possible outcome of declining it.

I hope and pray you will all come through it and be pronounced healthy some time down the road. God bless you.
